The Appeal to Popularity

This is called the Appeal to Popularity fallacy because he is appealing to us based on the popularity of the idea. Why should we believe in exceptionalism? Because all these other countries do.

Obama's argument might have seemed persuasive when you first read it, but it's clearly unreasonable now that you see how there is no logical reason behind it. Besides the Appeal to Popularity, there are hundreds of other logical fallacies. Some examples of simple fallacies are: the Appeal to Authority, the Appeal to Emotion, and the Appeal to Desperation.
